Expanding Technology in Human Service and Education.

Multi-functional devices such as tablets and smartphones allow for integration into the areas of tele-medicine, which is no longer designated from rural and Frontier communities, reducing related transportation cost, time and mileage, direct service time and effectiveness and increase access to immediate medical assessment reducing emergency room costs.

Students with disabilities are being introduced to technology at a young age in many public schools. As matriculate through the educational system entering into transition from school to adult life little thought is given to continuing access to evolving technology. Not every student qualifies for Vocational Rehabilitation Services, but many can be use technology not only for communication but for managing and scheduling caregivers, SmartHome applications which increase safety and can reduce support staff time while increasing efficiency, applications which support community access, behavior management, executive function have been shown to be successful.
